Fear of the unknown

So many people spend life getting hung up on the outcomes and forget the most important part…LIVING IN THE MOMENT!

These words are from a letter that Austin wrote me almost 3 years ago.  As I was going through all my things, preparing to pack everything up for the summer, I came across this letter and it could not have been better timing.  As our big adventure is quickly approaching, its been easy for me to get all caught up in the fear of the unknown.  I’m not talking about the unknown of Southeast Asia, the vastly different culture, the food or even the fact that I will be on the completely other side of the world than my comfort zone.  I’m talking about that day when I get back from this amazing experience & life hits me in the face.  My biggest fear in all of this…is the outcome.  What does the outcome look like?  What does life look like after this?  What is my next career move?  Where will we live?  These are the thoughts that I am making a conscience effort to not let consume me.

I have to remember to LIVE IN THE MOMENT!  To be present in every single day, with every single stranger I meet & every single city I visit. We are so lucky that we have the opportunity & means to do something this awesome, and I would be crazy if I didn’t embrace every single second of it!  Soooo, here goes nothing!
